City Council Overview

 The Council of the City of Scott City meets at 7:30 p.m. on the first and third Mondays of each month in City Hall. All meetings of the Scott City Governing Body are open to the public.

The City of Scott City is governed by a Mayor and City Council who are elected by the people of the City. The Mayor and City Council, acting together, are the Governing Body. This form of government consists of the Mayor, who is elected by the City at large, and eight Council members, two elected from each of the four wards of the City.

The Mayor serves a two-year term and City Council members serve a four-year term. The Governing Body, being the elected representatives of the people, adopts all ordinances and resolutions and determines the general goals and policies. 

On March 4, 2022, Mayor Everett Green issued a Proclomation that the City of Scott City stands in solidarity with Ukraine with the hope of a prompt end to this war and for a properous future for the independent country of Ukraine and her people.
