Building Department Overview
The Building Inspector provides services that protect the people who live, work and visit the City of Scott City. The Building Department is dedicated to Serve & Protect the Community by providing a physical review of a property in the various stages of construction, to ensure the builder has complied with all requirements of the local building codes.
The City of Scott City enforces the following: 
- 2006 International Building Code
- 2006 International Mechanical Code
- 2008 National Electrical Code
- 2006 International Plumbing Code
- 2015 International Residential Code
On December 20, 2021, the Scott City Council approved Ordinance #1228, an ordinance amending Title 9, Chapter 1 of the codification of the ordinances of Scott City Kansas relating to Building Code, Building Regulations, Demolition or Partial Demolition or Buildings, and Moving Structures:
